This is because the intake of alcohol facilitates the development of gastroduodenal ulcers and also slow down their healing process. The most destructive in this category are beer and liquors. Shellfish Frequent shellfish consumption will only irritate and also inflame the gastric mucosa. As one of the foods to avoid with an ulcer, it promotes ulcer development and retard their healing. Milk Traditionally, milk is used to treat ulcer patients. However, recent researches found that milk will raise the stomach acid level. In essence, as one of the foods to avoid, recent studies counsel against the intake of milk, particularly in large quantities. Also, recent studies also discovered that drinking large quantity of milk causes the development of stomach ulcer. White Sugar Frequent and excessive white sugar intake increases gastroduodenal ulcer risk. It is recommended you dwell more on a diet low in this type of product so as to protect the stomach.
