Dealing with Narcissism

Dealing with narcissism is necessary and I have encountered some Facebook folks who had once instructed me to go like their pictures; not that they were contesting for some beauty pageant or whatsoever. Some people do make it clear that if you don’t like their pictures and do not comment on their pictures; that it is better you unfriend yourself.

Now, watch it clearly, they are the ones who do not give a damn if you had uploaded a picture or not. They can snub for the entire universe. The kind of self-love they exhibit is somewhat alarming and they don’t care about how others feel. They think and they are convinced that they are better than others.

Most Narcissists love themselves in excess, and they often focus on a specific aspect of themselves. Most of the time, their physique and the desirability; a times their character or maybe skills they acquired.

Narcissist may also love the entirety of his or her attributes.

Dealing With Narcissism: The Effects of Narcissism

Narcissists suffer the following as a result of their disorders:

Social Rejection: Everybody tends to avoid them. Nobody wants or likes to associate with them or hold a casual convo with them

Poor Achievement: Narcissists do not achieve much since they spend their time and energy on building up themselves. Whether it be in their studies or trade or profession, fear of failure leads to doubt and inability any time they try to reach a goal.

Possible Emotional Problems Encountered: They always seem to hide their helplessness; that is to say, their personality seem fragile, insecure and always lonely. Depression may occur when they finally realize they are not what they would like to appear to be.

Remember the Word of God in (Romans 12:16 “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position”

Whatever the cause, and whether or not professional help is sought, your own personal desire to change will be beneficial. Try the following advice:

Be aware of your situation: Perhaps you may not realize it, but if you observe your own behaviour and others’ reactions, you will soon see the anomalies. When there is a challenge try to accept the challenge and be determined to change.

Try to forget yourself: When interacting with people, focus on listening, ask questions and show interest in them.

Help someone everyday: Opening to others helps you to understand their needs as well as your own. Invite a friend, offer a helping hand to a peer.

Assume a global vision of your environment. Get yourself involved in accomplishing great things; together with other volunteers, in humanitarian tasks serving the needy.
