  2. For dry extract: Take a gram, three (3) or four (4) times daily. Do this before meals.

For Boldo Tea

  1. Steep one (1) tea spoonful (about 6 grams) of dried boldo leaves in a cup of hot water.

The simplest way to make the boldo herbal tea is to buy dried boldo tea leaves and make a steep so as to get it like a beverage. One can also get a high quality boldo tea bag and add hot water.

However, you can do the following at home

  • Take two (2) tablespoons of dried boldo leaves, crush and leave them at the bottom of the teacup
  • Heat the water to 90 – 960 If your teapot is not a temperature-controlled type, just the boil the water and wait for a minute in order to reduce the temperature slightly.
  • Pour about eight (8) ounces of water over the crushed leaves (dried)
  • Allow the tea leaves steep for as long as you desire. This is usually 10 – 15 minutes.

  • Cystitis
  • Upset stomach
  • Gonorrhea
  • Fluid retention
  • Anxiety
  • Constipation

Caution:

Do not exceed the prescribed dose which is four (4) cups a day. This is because high doses has narcotic properties, they act on the nervous system. Pregnant women should avoid boldo tea or boldo plant. According to rxlist.com, boldo can cause irritation when applied to the skin

Consuming boldo in high doses may damage the liver. There may be skin rash due to some topic exposure. This may not take place when preparing boldo tea.

Also, with alcohol, boldo should not be taken.

If you are taking any medication that harm the liver, boldo should not be taken. Furthermore, boldo should not be recommended for people for consumption two weeks prior to the time operation (surgery).
